SKETCH SATURDAY : GUEST DESIGNER : FINAL WEEK

My card  for the final week of my Guest Designer month for Sketch Saturday, features an image from the sponsor,
http://www.happyprintclub.com/

The image is called Little Cake Fairy and I coloured her using alcohol markers.

My card follows the sketch for this week, and as you can see I rotated it a quarter turn to the right.

It's an easy sketch to use, so why don;t you come and play along - the sponsor has a lovely prize for one lucky winner!

A DAY FOR DAISIES SHOWCASE : MAGICAL DANCERS

I am showcasing another of the very pretty Magical Dancers this week. This sweetie is called Magical Tulip Dancer, and I coloured her using alcohol markers, and a white gel pen:
To create my card I used the following:

white cs base card
music themed background
the lace framed was made using an old thin metal bangle around which I sewed some lace, sequins, beads and little pearl beads
The sentiment was printed onto vellum and placed behind the lace frame and on top of the background.
The image was fussy cut and placed on top of the frame, using foam double sided tape squares.

There is also a light blue satin bow.

Click here to check out the other DT creations with this set of images.

Don't forget, you have another 5 days in which to enter (please use an A Day for Daisies image to play along)

HOW DO YOU TIE THE PERFECT BOW? ... a Tutorial for Bugaboo Stamps

As a papercrafts teacher I often get asked how to tie the perfect bow, as this is something many crafters really find difficult to do.  Now while I can tie one with my eyes closed, I realise I needed to come up with a better solution, and here is that answer, and a little 'how-to' ...

 Step 1

cut 4 pieces of satin ribbon (it doesn't really matter about the width)
1 x 15cm
2 x 7cm
1 x 5cm

Step 2

Step 3
Step 4
Step 5
Step 6
How easy is that!?
You might want to make a a whole bunch of these while sitting in front of the tv, or whilst waiting for the kids to come out of school.  A couple in every colour, so that they will be ready and waiting for the perfect project!

You can see the bow I made on my card, that features the Bugaboo image called

 I hope you'll give it a try!

BUGABOO STAMPS NEW RELEASE

One of today's cute new releases from Bugaboo Stamps is this adorable little Boy Booksitter.  I merged him on a little bookshelf and added a birthday bunting before printing and colouring using alcohol markers.

Instead of using Glossy Accents, I used crafters glue on his spectacles as it dries a little more milky - it looks like he is a little bookworm with thick lenses! *gigl*

As an embellishment (perfect for a boy's card), I used a pointed fold over tab and a button.

Drop on by Bugaboo and take a look at all the new releases remember they're on sale for 50% off for an entire week!

BUGABOO BINGO CHALLENGE

We have a Bingo challenge today at Bugaboo Stamps' Catch the Bug blog, and this is the board for you to choose from:

I chose the row PLAYERS CHOICE / BUTTON / FABRIC and my card features the Bugaboo images called Ladybug Daisy and  Ladybug Sunbonnet that I merged with various digital elements to create a background.

My player's choice is sparkle (created by the sewn on sequins and beads, and Stickles) and the fabric and button are found here:

The sentiment is digital and I added a stamen to the button, as well as a red cs mat behind the image.
